Mapas Sonoros – Cajazeiras LockDown?
Sound Maps – Cajazeiras LockDown?
by Vagné L.
Description
The project proposes the sound relations provoked and felt by the artist with the natural environment and the people who live in urban spaces such as Cajazeiras slums and neighborhoods, a peripheral neighborhood located in the city of Salvador – Bahia, which is mostly composed of Afro-descendants and people at risk.
This intervention also investigates the environment and people within the process of social isolation in the Pandemic. Note the sound expressions carried out in some sporting events of crowded people, putting their own health at risk, being exposed to possible contamination by the virus COVID-19. In contrast, we see and hear the environment in the process of healing, generating restorative frequencies for the universe.
Result:
04 – Soundscapes of the natural environment and the sound events of the agglomerations in Cajazeiras 2020.
07 tracks – Musical production + video art of with urban Afro-Brazilian rhythms with recorded and processed timbres.
